HWÆT, you are invited freondlice to:
The 56th Annual
BEOWULF MARATHON

UC BERKELEY
FRIDAY, 30 APRIL 3PM
330 WHEELER HALL (English Department Lounge)
Sponsored by: Graduate Medievalists at Berkeley

Come join the thriving community of UC Berkeley medievalists as we gather
together and read BEOWULF as it was meant to be read: aloud, straight
through, and . . . with beer.

Attendees can choose to participate in reading the Old English, or just
sitting and listening (all skill levels welcome!).  Refreshments will be provided
(not just beer); all are welcome to attend for part or for the entirety of the event (it
usually lasts 3 1/2 hours). If you own a copy of the text, please bring it.
Otherwise, additional ones should be available for sharing.

Please spread the word to anyone interested.

Hope to see you there!

A dose of medieval . . .

Pisces dicti unde et pecus, a pascendo scilicet. Reptilia ideo dicuntur haec quae natant, eo quod reptandi habeant speciem et naturam; quamvis se in profundum inmergant, tamen in natando repunt.
